Big & Rich

credits here

Here is my 2nd LO using CS3. I heart CS3. WOW! What a difference with what you're able to do. But this is my first page to my Country Feast album I'm going to do. We went in June, 2006. I just hope I can remember all the details. LOL! But once I'm done with all the pages, I'm going to do the Shutterfly book with these and give a copy of that to my parents. Now I just with I would have started this a month ago. I start a new job on Monday so I wont have much free time anymore. (sigh) It was nice while it lasted. :D

projects

This is the heart album I did for hubby for valentines day this year. I've never done one of these chipboard albums before and I REALLY like how it turned out. Really easy to do, too. Most of the papers I used were from the Smitten paper pack by K&Company. Elements were a mix of a lot of different stuff I had laying around.

Here are just a few of the cards I've created recently. The first one I lifted from a card that was done by Kelly Purkey. (sorry it's sideways, for some reason I can't get it turned the right way.)

And this one I just sent out.

Here is a LO is just finished working on. This took me waaaaay too long to do. And I guess I still just don't have that "it's finished" feeling about this. Maybe because it doesn't have a title. But do all LO's really have to have a title? I don't think so. But maybe that's why I don't think it's done. I don't know. I'll wait a couple of weeks and then look at it again. :D

Zona

This LO is from a kit I bought at DesignerDigitals awhile ago. I just haven't had the time to go through and play with it. I feel like I'm starting to run out of pictures to play with. Maybe next week, I'll sit down and concentrate on going through all my old photos and scan them in to scrap. Boy! What a project THAT will be! :D

I really love how the postcard turned out! I will have to use that setting on more photos. I'll try to post more LO's on here later today.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday! YAY! Happy B-day, Mom! (I think everyone should celebrate their birthday to the max)
Brian & Lisa, mom & dad and I got together and had lunch at Cafe Soeurette today. I sooo love their food. So good. I ended up making a really cute photo mat to put inside one of those Starbucks coffee (tumbler) mugs. But b/c I'm always a tad behind when it comes to important things(heehee), I had to stop at Starbucks on the way to the restaurant to pick up one of those mugs to put the photo in. :D But it did turn out really cute. And you know what? Do you think I remembered to take ANY photos of it or her today? Nope! Oh well. We are going out this Saturday for a Birthday dinner to celebrate hubby's birthday and mom's birthday. So I'll be sure to take pictures then.

Here is a LO I recently put together using on of the premade LO's from Jessica Sprague. I printed this out and had it framed and now hangs on the wall in my parents livingroom. Picture was taken at the Friends & Family open house at Cafe Soeurette before the restaurant officially opened.

Challenge

I'm currently doing an online class called Now we're Rockin' by Jessica Sprague and today's challenge was to do a LO in 30 minutes about what makes me happy. So here is my take on today's challenge. Took me a little bit longer than 30 mins, but I did get it finished. TFL!

Being a child in 2008

Look....Look at the stuff kids get to play with today. Wish we had this kind of stuff when I was little.

And check this out....I laughed so hard when I saw this picture.

snowy days

Today I got together with one of my very bestest friends. Actually, we've spent a lot of time together this week. She's a HS Music teacher and they have off for Christmas vacation. Anywho, we've had a LOT of snow recently and I've wanted to get out and try to get some photos. So we went to our old HS and trekked our way through the soccer field, and part of the football field to some trails that lead to a pond behind our HS. I am soooo glad that I took my very warm LLBean winter boots with. There were times I was up to my knees in snow. Man! Walking all that way through all that snow can really take a lot out of you! LOL! But we had a blast. Here is one of my favorite photos of Leah.

Tommy the Cat

I ran across a drawing that a HS friend of mine did. And then out of no where, I started signing the Primus song that went with that drawing.

Jen, this is for you! :D

" well I remember as it were a meal ago"

Said Tommy the Cat as he reeled back to clear whatever foreign matter
may have nestled its way into his mighty throat.
Many a fat alley rat had met its demise while staring point blank down
the cavernous barrel of this awesome prowling machine.
Truly a wonder of nature this urban predator.
Tommy the cat had many a story to tell,
But it was a rare occasion such as this that he did.

She came slidin' down the alleyway like butter drippin' off a hot biscuit.
The aroma, the mean scent, was enough to arouse suspicion in even the
oldest of Tigers that hung around the hot spot in those days.
The sight was beyond belief.
Many a head snapped for double - even triple - takes as this vivacious
feline made her her way into the delta of the alleyway where the most
virile of the young tabbys were known to hang out.

They hung in droves. Such a multitude of masculinity could only be
found in one place...
And that was O'malley's Alley.

The air was thick with cat calls (no pun intended),
But not even a muscle in her neck did twitch as she sauntered up into
the heart of the alleyway.
She knew what she wanted.
She was lookin' for that stud bull, she was looking for that he cat.
And that was me.

Tommy the Cat is my name and I say unto thee...

Say baby do you wanna lay down with me
Say baby do you wanna lay down by my side
Ah baby do you wanna lay down with me
Say baby?...Say baby?

Twas The Night Before Christmas (Texas Style)

Twas The Night Before Christmas (Texas Style)

'Twas the night before Christmas, in Texas, you know.
Way out on the prairie, without any snow.
Asleep in their cabin, were Buddy and Sue,
A dreamin' of Christmas, like me and you.

Not stockings, but boots, at the foot of their bed,
For this was Texas, what more need be said,
When all of a sudden, from out of the still night,
There came such a ruckus, it gave me a fright.

and I saw 'cross the prairie, like a shot from a gun,
A loaded up buckboard, come on at a run,
The driver was "Geein" and "Hawin", with a will,
The horses (not reindeer) he drove with such skill.

"Come on there Buck, Poncho, & Prince, to the right,
There'll be plenty of travelin' for you all tonight."
The driver in Levi's and a shirt that was red,
Had a ten-gallon Stetson on top of his head.

As he stepped from the buckboard, he was really a sight,
With his beard and moustache, so curly and white.
As he burst in the cabin, the children awoke,
and were so astonished, that neither one spoke.

and he filled up their boots with such presents galore,
That neither could think of a single thing more.
When Buddy recovered the use of his jaws,
He asked in a whisper, "Are you really Santa Claus?"

"Am I the real Santa? Well, what do you think?"
and he smiled as he gave a mysterious wink.
Then he leaped in his buckboard, and called back in his drawl,
"To all the children in Texas, Merry Christmas, Ya’ll"
